Things that are SCARYYYYYYY

In honor of Halloween I'd like to take a second to briefly rant over a couple of the things that are currently scaring the hell out of me about our society....

The ignorance of many people in this country is scary- more specifically the people that would believe against all odds that we must fear Obama because of his race, policies, or history (none of which are scary by the way). It scares me that people believe that Palin is good for women simply because of her gender, totally disregarding that she is piss poor on all issues related to women's rights or health- anti-choice, being in favor of women paying for their own PERK kits when they are raped, and being against more women having health care. The scariest thing of all to me right now is that people let "morality" issues such as abortion or gay marriage distract them from making choices in a candidate who would most likely benefit them. A fraction of our country's population controls the majority of the wealth, and the proposed policies of Obama would benefit 95% of society. Therefore, these same people who are so passionately defending the Mccain/Palin ticket are voting against their own self-interests. Meanwhile, the same political party that is supposed to be against big government still attempts to regulate "morality" through interfering with people's choices and lives. If the Republicans could evolve into an era where their policies no longer stood for anti-choice or anti-GLBTQ rights, maybe I could overlook the other ideologies that they stand for that make them scary to me as well. But for now, I find the people in support of the Republicans for this election to be too scared to be hopeful for a better tomorrow for future generations. Oh, and the Democrats are going to WIN. They have it in the bag.
